Ms Zamurad Akhzar – The CAP Podcast #168

Ms. Zamurad Akhzar was born in Gujrat (Punjab) in 1932. In later years she actively campaigned for Fatima Jinnah.

In this podcast she talks about life in Gujrat from before Partition, her childhood memories, her Hindu friends and crafts of the city. She also talks about wealthy Hindu merchants of the city and the inter-communal harmony that existed before Partition. She still remembers that she and her Hindu friends would not discriminate between Hindu and Muslim festivals. She also talks about how she and her friends did not abstain from eating at each other's homes.
