Ms Amtullah Siddiqui – The CAP Podcast #148

Ms. Amtullah Siddiqui was born in Ambala in 1934 and currently resides in Lahore. Having lost her parents to violent attacks while migrating to Lahore in 1947, she made it to one of the refugee camps with her infant brother. In this podcast, she presents a narrative, wrought with simplicity, which details that the prospect of a divide and separation was an alien notion to the pluralistic community that co-existed in her village before independence. It was, however, the politics of that time that made it an eventual
possibility in the end.
