Salman Shahid – The CAP Podcast #33
Mr. Salman Shahid was born in 1952, Lahore. His family migrated to Lahore from Delhi in 1947. His father, Mr. Saleem Shahid was a producer at BBC and his mother Begum Khursheed Shahid is one of the pioneers of PTV and the performing arts in Pakistan. Mr. Shahid’s claim to fame is the popular 70's PTV sitcom, 'Such Gup' on which he worked with artists like Mr. Shoaib and Ms. Saleema Hashmi. In conversation with The Citizens Archive of Pakistan, he recalls his time at Government College Lahore and the first play he ever acted in. He discusses ‘Such Gup,’ which was pretty much his first television appearance and talks about the evolution of commercial theater.
Salman Shahid is a Pakistani film, theatre, television and voice actor. He has worked in Lollywood, Bollywood as well as theatre and television.
Personal life
His mother Khursheed Shahid was also a well known TV artist while his father Salim Shahid created programs for BBC London.
