A 52" documentary for ARTE's GEO 360 program. ARTE is the European culture channel.
Daily life is a challenge in Karachi. For years, Pakistan's largest city has been plagued by political and social unrest. The elderly, the sick and children are the forgotten ones of these turbulent times. They would have no chance of survival if it was not for one man who strives to support them in the midst of chaos and violence. For over 65 years, Abdul Sattar Edhi, 90 years old, and his family, are trying to help their fellow men by promoting empathy and tolerance. This approach is admired by everyone. And more than once, it has gotten Edhi's life threatened. Yet, his success remains a model.
