Mrs. Kaniz Wajid Khan – The CAP Podcast #137

Mrs. Kaniz Wajid Khan was born in June 1920. She has worked intensively on numerous projects in Pakistan and is one of the senior most members of APWA.

In this Podcast Mrs.Khan speaks about Quaid-e-Azam and what a great personality he possessed. She described how there were riots regarding the national language. She said that Mr. Jinnah believed that a state should have one national language and in this case, that was Urdu. Once he made a statement, no one dared to even question it.

She also explains that the Quaid wanted a secular state not a religious one; it was supposed to be a nation where Muslims had their own identity and would take care of minorities and let them live freely. He did not think that there would be such a massive exchange of population which is what happened after Partition.
